January and February fun

Wow, the time sure does fly. First, we were celebrating a big birthday, then getting ready for a trip to Washington, DC and Cameroon. Unfortunately, Abraham and I didn't get to make either trip. He ended up getting a fever and rash right before we left for DC. Then, surprisingly enough, he didn't weigh enough to take his malaria medicine. On his first birthday, he was only 23.2 pounds. He needed to be 24.8 to make it. We went in to get his MMR shot on Tuesday, the day that David left for Cameroon, and he still wasn't enough. At 13 months, he weighed 23# 12. So much for a big heavy boy.

Ever since he has really started to move, his weight gain has slowed down. I'm pretty sure we have the next flash lightening on our hands. He is VERY fast, running from one place to the next. He is finally starting to take a nap for me. With lots of snuggling, holding tightly, and encouragement, he will fall asleep for about 1 hour!!! Yeah for us!

Abraham's favorite activity is anything that relates to being outside. We end up playing on the deck in the mornings before breakfast, and then again when it is actually warm enough. He enjoys sidewalk chalk, giving Toiyabe a ball, shoveling, sliding...over and over and over, walks, and anything else as long as it is outside.

Enjoy the pictures and videos. We are working on getting a loaded spoon into the mouth. It is much easier said than done. Find us on skype Jessica Lougeay-Benson.

He brought me his snow boots, tried to put them on himself and then begged to go outside 2 mornings ago...at 0745. Who cares if it's really cold out!!
Big helper.
International drumming day at the library.
Feeding himself!
So hard to get upright with all my snowgear on!
Shoveling mad men. Think he'll still be so willing to help when he's older?!?!?
